It all started when a friend's golden retriever went next door and "visited" their border collie. I never knew the mix was called a Golden Border or a Coltriever. When you combine the goofy, friendly, playful and loyal traits of a golden retriever with the smartest, hardest working dog on the planet, the result is one of the best dogs you'll ever find. Sadie was our first and inspired us to adopt Bella Aspen ten years later so Sadie could teach her how to also be one of "the best dogs ever." When Sadie passed after a long life filled with love, adventure and a blissful retirement, we adopted Kisper Joy. All three look very different, but are the same golden retriever border collie mix. We compete in disc dog competitions, use AAC buttons to communicate (check out the amazing book How Stella Learned to Talk), play in the river, hike, snowshoe, kayak, go on road trips, cuddle, catch pine cones and yes, roll in turkey and moose poo, just in case you thought they were perfect.
